Head/Assistant Coaching Requirements 

1. Complete VHSL Coaches Education Program 
2. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition & Intervention Training
3. Show proof of a valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification from a Nationally Recognized Organization
4. Complete the NFHS Learn Concussion Course and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director
5. Complete the NFHS Sportsmanship Course and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director
6. Outdoor Sports – Complete the  NFHS Heat Illness Course  and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director
7. **NEW** Student-Athlete Mental Health For Coaches - Complete the NPS Student-Athlete Mental Heath For Coaches course and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director 

Volunteer Coaching Information 

Are you interested in volunteering to help coach our student-athletes? Follow the procedures below to get started:

Volunteer Coaching Requirements

1. Contact the school’s Athletic Director regarding your interest and potential opportunities
2. Complete and receive clearance through the Norfolk Public Schools Volunteer Screening (Raptor)
3. Show proof of a valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification from a Nationally Recognized Organization
4. Complete the NFHS Learn Concussion Course and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director
5. Complete the NFHS Sportsmanship Course and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director
6. **NEW** Student-Athlete Mental Health For Coaches - Complete the NPS Student-Athlete Mental Heath For Coaches course and submit completion certificate to Athletic Director
