    Important Updates: High School and Middle School applications may be dropped off at Rosemont on the Academy of International Studies side of the building.
    The specialty programs application deadline for participating NPS middle schools has been extended to Friday, January 29, 2021.

    Norfolk Public Schools’ annual Specialty Program Showcase Night will be held virtually on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. for middle school programs and 6:00 p.m. for high school programs on Channel 47. 

    We invite you and your child(ren) to view this showcase, as we have designed it to share more about the rigorous, specialized programs at each of our high schools and some of our middle schools. During the showcase, we will highlight each specialized program, including the unique course offerings and opportunities each program affords our students.

    The dates for each specialty program’s open house are listed below. The open houses offer an additional opportunity to learn about each of our specialty programs. We are currently planning for in-person open houses; however, we will adjust that plan based upon our school opening status at that time, as determined by our school board. Therefore, our in-person open house plan may develop into virtual open houses. We will, of course, keep everyone informed through our website of any changes to the open house format.

    Here are the dates and times for each high school program’s open house:

    • Academy of the Arts (Booker T. Washington High School) January 12, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
    • Academy of Leadership and Military Science (Lake Taylor High School) January 13, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
    • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Granby High School) January 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
    • Leadership Center for the Sciences and Engineering (Norview High School) January 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
    • NORSTAR* (Norfolk Science, Technology, and Advanced Research) January 20, 2021 at 6:00 pm   *Note: These students remain at their zoned school and travel for to the program site on designated dates/times*
    • Medical and Health Specialties (Maury High School) January 14, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
