Business Information Systems
Our Team takes care of all Financial and HR/Payroll issues for the District.
The Business Information Systems (BIS) department, within the Information Technology Division supports Norfolk Public Schools in its continuing mission to be “Nationally Recognized, Globally Competitive”. Additionally, we provide the primary support for the Financial, Human Resources, and Payroll systems (MUNIS). This includes administration, new release implementation, problem determination, working with the vendor to achieve problem resolution, user support, and report writing.
BIS develops and deploys Business Objects Enterprise applications in the form of Crystal Reports, and Universe design for Web Intelligence access. Peripheral Microsoft systems that are external to, supplemental and complimentary to the MUNIS Financial system are supported as well as the Norfolk Public Schools Data Warehouse which houses data from our former legacy systems. The department’s MUNIS intranet site is maintained also. Our primary goal is to provide “World Class Service to our Customers.”
