Attendance Recovery Out-of-School Instructional Plan

The Attendance Recovery Out-of-School Instructional Plan is designed to allow students to recover learning gaps while recovering absences. Instruction for the students will be in areas of student need as determined by student academic data. Students will receive targeted individualized instruction before school beginning February 28, 2024, through May 31, 2024.

Eligible students have been contacted by Sherwood staff, however, if you would like more information or have questions regarding your student’s eligibility, please email Mr. Holland at dholland@nps.k12.va.us.

Instructional Focus 

The staff at Sherwood Forest Elementary School will collaborate to ensure all students leave the school with the ability to think critically and solve problems in all content areas.  To accomplish this goal, SFES staff will incorporate research-based critical thinking strategies into all areas of instruction.  Students' success will be measured by DBA, STAR, Lexia, and Edmentum assessments.
