Students from Chef Harwick’s (Norfolk Technical Center) and Chef Gainer’s (Maury HS) Culinary 2/3 programs participated in a ProStart Virtual Pitch Competition.
Students were asked to submit their best new restaurant concept via social media in a 30-60-second pitch video: with the following requirements: restaurant name, location, specialty or concept (what's your restaurant serving up?), and community impact (How would YOU build a restaurant that gives back to the community?). The judges were from the Culinary Institute of Virginia & Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association. Students were awarded up to $250 per student based on the best restaurant concept.
