Norfolk School Board Selects Jason Inge to Fill Ward 3 Vacancy
 
In a unanimous vote, the School Board of the City of Norfolk selected Mr. Jason L. Inge, MPA to fill the Ward 3 vacancy during the February 5, 2025, School Board work session. He stood out from a pool of 34 candidates, ultimately securing a spot among the top 5, all of whom were interviewed during the work session. Mr. Inge’s qualifications, experience, and vision for the community made him the clear choice to serve in this critical role.
As an accomplished nonprofit leader with over 11 years of experience, Mr. Inge brings a wealth of expertise in community development, strategic leadership, and program development to his new role. As Director of Community Investments at United Way of South Hampton Roads, Mr. Inge excels in grant writing, budget management, and strategic development, skills directly relevant to effective decision-making in educational leadership. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to navigate complex challenges, implement innovative solutions, and build collaborative partnerships that address community needs. As a former Regional Transportation Mobility Manager and President of the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals, Mr. Inge has developed a deep understanding of community engagement and the importance of supporting diverse populations.
With a track record of successfully managing budgets, and advocating for positive change, Mr. Inge is well-equipped to contribute valuable perspectives and drive meaningful outcomes for the school division.
Mr. Inge will hold his current seat until a special election can be held in November 2025.
