Renee Swank, who serves as a Regional Director on the Executive Board of School Nutrition Association of VA, planned and hosted a regional meeting after school on October 27th, at Norview High School. The theme was Building Healthy Community Partnerships. This effort was supported by the Norfolk Chapter 4B, led by President Doug Allen (Warehouse Manager) and President Elect Kelly Stewart (School Nutrition Manager at Granby High). The meeting included SNA-VA members from all across the Tidewater Area (including retirees), as well as School Nutrition's community partners from the Newby Foundation, Infinity Empowerment, The Diary Alliance, Keely's Cupcakes, and Youth Earn and Learn-Jobs for Kids. The event included networking, professional development hours (used to meet professional standards required by the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act), and a "Salad in a Jar Party" wellness concept. A big success, for certain!
