Digital Learning Platforms

  • Beginning in the 2021-2022 school year, NPS contracted with two digital platform providers, Lexia and Edmentum, to provide individualized accelerated learning support to students in reading
(Lexia) and math (Edmentum). These platforms provide teachers and tutors with on-demand reports in real time of individual student progress in mastering grade-level content and skills, along with gaps in mastering content and skills from previous grade levels. The on-demand data enables teachers and tutors to make informed instructional decisions, adjusting instruction and strategies to meet individual students' learning needs. Both digital platforms also offer teachers and tutors options for assigning additional lessons to students, as needed, or for teachers and tutors to print lessons for non-computer use, when appropriate.

For literacy, Lexia Core 5 Intervention Lessons are automatically recommended for students who are struggling with a skill within the online program. Lexia Core 5 continuously tracks and assesses students' skills and provides ongoing data to identify areas where they may need additional support or enrichment.

Similarly for math, Edmentum's Exact Path assesses students' skills and provides ongoing data to identify areas where students may need additional support or enrichment. The diagnostic assessment data is used to create an individualized, accelerated learning path for students. Skills assigned on the path may be identified up to two years below grade level (beginning at grade 2).
