    Greetings Booker Family,

Welcome to an exciting 2017-2018 school year. I am very proud to say Booker T. Washington is FULLY ACCREDITED. Full accreditation doesn't just happen. We received that rating because of the hard work and collaboration between and among teachers, students, and parents. I personally want to take this opportunity to say thank you to our students and parents for staying the course and remaining persistent, consistent, determined, and focused. Hard work does pay off.

The Instructional Focus for Booker T. Washington High School remains the same; Literacy- Reading and Writing in all content areas. We will continue to focus on three instructional strategies: Cornell Notetaking, Graphic Organizers, and Summarizing. We are excited about our plans of getting the student body involved and engaged in the instructional focus.

We have celebrated our Fully Accredited status for 5 minutes. Now, it is time to continue the work to remain fully accredited. In the school, we will continue working closely with teachers to provide the support and resources needed for students to remain academically successful. Outside of school, I employ the help of parents and guardians for the resources and support that the students will need to continue experiencing academic success.

We are off to a fantastic start this school year, and I believe the best is yet to come. Remember, Literacy Matters at BTW.

    With Booker Pride,

    Dr. Margie G. Stallings,
    Proud Principal
