I started teaching at Ruffner in August of 2015. I worked in 8th Grade English for 2 years before moving to 7th grade. I am a local from Norfolk and graduated from Norview high school. I went to Old Dominion University and received my Bachelor of Arts in History with teaching credentials, and a Master’s in Special Education with a graduate certificate in Autism.
I love teaching and I enjoy bringing out the creative side in learning. My goal is to make a creative, welcoming environment in which all students can learn and grow. I believe in having students think “I can!” and not give up. In my free time, I enjoy painting, drawing, and all things Disney. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, Johnathan and Skyler, as well as my furry puppy children, Bandit and Pearl.
