My name is Melissa Castle and I have served in the capacity as the Title 1 Interventionist for the past 7 years and as the Athletic Director for 3 years.

 

As the Title 1 Teacher, I assist the ELA department through small group instruction that is data-driven. I work with students that have been identified as Tier 2 students and I utilize instructional strategies to move them closer to proficiency and mastery. 

 

As the Athletic Director, I oversee the athletic sports that are played at the middle school level. We are also partnered with STEM Academy and their students participate in sports here at Ruffner. Besides the athletic sports, we have Scholastic Bowl and Forensics, which our Middle School students love to participate in. Students in grades 6-8 only are eligible to play sports with a reliable athletic sports physical.
