Teacher-Orchestra

 

Ms. Payne is the Orchestra teacher and director at Azalea Garden Middle School. She attended Norfolk State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Public School music. Also, Ms. Payne earned a master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling from Hampton University. Ms. Payne is a business owner. Her LLC “Step UP” Connection band has been the highlight of many events such as The Congressional Black Caucus event in Washington D.C., The Jazz Legacy Foundation, and many other events. Ms. Payne was invited to L.A. California where she was the violinist for the wedding of Motown C.E.O. Berry Gordy’s daughter Sherry Gordy. Ms. Payne enjoys teaching middle school orchestra. Azalea Gardens Middle has participated in the V.B.O.D.A. festival and earned two superior and two excellent ratings.
