Welcome to AGMS! I am Alice Spence, the School Counseling Department Chair, and have been a Department Chair since 1999. I attended Norfolk State University where I received a Bachelor and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and a School Counseling Certification from Old Dominion University. I have studied at the University of Virginia and Kansas State University. I am a U. S. Army Veteran and have lived in Asia and Europe. I am a National Board Life Coach and have licenses as a Professional School Counselor- Pre-K -12 and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. I am the author of "Empowering Words: Transforming the Way We Talk: A Parable". I love working with, developing, and empowering young people to fulfill their present and future academic and personal goals!

My name is Tyrone Obaseki, and I am the new Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) for Azalea Garden Middle School! I am happy to join you this school year! I am here to support Military members by providing counselingservices for DoD Military, Guard and Reserve, Certain Affiliated Personnel, and their Family Members. Eligible participants may receive up to 12 non-medical counseling sessions per person, per issue annually at no cost to the participant.
