    OUR PHILOSOPHY:

     Believing that the total development of the child is the shared responsibility of the home and the school, parents are expected and encouraged to support and become involved in the school program as well as to support pupil interest in school related activities.

    SCHOOL: 

    The Crossroads Faculty and Staff believe that all children can learn and that they possess the potential for making worth-while contributions to our society when adequately prepared. It is our responsibility to provide a quality education for each child. We strive to create an atmosphere conducive for the teaching and learning process so that all students can have opportunities in life.

Announcements

  • Due to the extended school closure mandated by Governor Northam, the Specialty Program Committee has reviewed the application process and the following adjustments have been made:

     

    ·         There will be no program testing;

    ·         There will be no interviews; and

    ·         There will be no portfolio reviews or auditions.

     

    Each student’s application will be evaluated by using the established district rubric which includes reviewing the application information and the student’s record. 

    For the lottery schools: The lotteries for Academy for Discovery, Southside Stem, Ghent, and Academy of International Studies will be conducted the week of April 6, 2020.

    For all programs: Students will be notified of their status for the 2020-21 school year in a mailing scheduled to be sent out on April 27, 2020.

  • Due to Norfolk Public Schools being placed on  no extracurricular or afterschool activities mandate all Specialty Programs follow-up interviews, auditions, essays and testing are postponed until further notice.  Also, due to this postponement it is likely to back up the process and acceptance notification will be delayed.  Continue to monitor the school and/or NPS web page for updates.
