    TCC has a wide variety of options for students who aren't sure whether a 4 year school is for them. They offer everything from associate degrees that can be transferred to a 4 year school, to online degrees, to short-term programs that get you ready for the world of work in a matter of months.     The Apprentice School—founded in 1919 at Newport News Shipbuilding—is the preeminent apprenticeship program in the nation and offers four-, five-, and eight-year apprenticeships in nineteen shipbuilding disciplines and eight advanced programs of study.
