How to submit hours using MobileServe.
The value of supporting and helping others is an inherent aspect of a career in the medical or health fields. Equally important, is the skill of time management that students will naturally develop by managing the community service requirement along with academic performance and extracurricular commitments.
MHSP students are expected to complete 30 hours of ongoing, documented, verifiable community service each year and must attain a minimum of 120 hours by the end of the senior year. To meet this requirement, the following guidelines have been established.
- Every student must complete a minimum of twenty hours during the course of the academic year. These hours must be submitted to the MHSP Program leader no later than May 31st of each academic school year. Students may complete the yearly requirement by submitting 30 hours by this deadline.
- The remaining ten hours may be completed over the summer following the academic year.
-Hours may NOT be banked during the summer to apply towards the following year's requirements; however, summer hours will always count towards the cumulative total a student receives.
-It is the student's responsibility to make contact with a site of interest and arrange a mutually agreeable time for volunteer work.
-The MHSP Program Leader will share information about volunteer opportunities, but it is the student's responsibility to follow-up on any activities.
-Students who do not complete this yearly requirement may be exited from the program.
