  • Summer Session: Class of 2018 Senior Formal Portraits

    Hayne Photographers

     

    Hayne Photographers will be at Maury on Wednesday, July 12th from 8:30 - 2:00 PM in the Band Room to take senior formal pictures. This is another opportunity to complete pictures before the school year begins. A $10 sitting fee is required at the Maury session. Enter at the door nearest the band room on DeBree Avenue, just north of the intersection of Spotswood Ave, just across from the faculty parking lot.You may also make an appointment to do your portraits at the Hayne studios in the East Beach section of Norfolk. 

    Remember, seniors who have their senior portraits taken before the school year begins qualify for a $40 price for the yearbook through the end of October 2017.


    Class of 2017 Graduation Pictures

    Pictures from the 2017 Graduation ceremony are available to view and purchase. Just visit https://www.getmyphotonow.com, and enter the password "maurygrad2017" to view photos from graduation. Ordering information is available on the site.


    Photo galleries for spring sports are available at on the Hayne Photographers website. Use the password mauryspring2017. Parents may purchase team pictures, individual pictures, and action shots. Take a look at some of the sample products available. If a gallery expires, call the studios to gain access. That includes band, orchestra, and sports photos.

    Cap & gown pictures are available for viewing, too. Use the same passwords used for senior formal pictures. Hayne Photographers is our school photographer, but they can help you with all occasions.

  • Girls Outdoor Track
    Group 5A State Runner-Up
    Atlantic Conference Champions

    Congratulations to the girls outdoor track team for their outstanding season. Behind strong performances by Brooke Stith and Maya Seay, the Commodores won the Atlantic Conference Championship, and came in second in the Region 5A South and Group 5A state championship meets. Stith, bound for East Carolina, set state championship meet records in the triple jump and long jump. Maya Seay, headed for the University of Illinois, added 2nd-place finishes in the 100 meter dash and 100 meter hurdles. Maeve Stiles came in 8th place in the 1600 meters.

  • SOL Tests

    Summer SOL Test Session

    The summer administration for all non-writing SOL tests will be held at Maury High School on Wednesday and Thursday, July 26th and 27th. All writing retests will be done using the WorkKeys program. This is an opportunity for first time testers of students who have passed an SOL course, as wll as those who need to repeat a test they haven't passed. To retest, you must participate in a remediation session. Register by visiting the Maury SOL Information page.

    The Commodores ended a successful 2017 season with a 4-0 loss to Albemarle in the Group 5A state tournament semifinals. Finishing the season with an unblemished record, the Commodores ran off 19 consecutive wins to claim the Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament titles. First year coach Mary Morgan earned Atlantic Conference and Region 5A Coach of the Year honors. Star White and Zoe Smith were named to the All Region 5A South 1st team, while Abby Urban made the 2nd team.

    The 33rd Annual Maury Art Show was an enormous success, with a variety of entries from many categories. This year's winners include:

    The NPS Office of Athletics encourages all student athletes to visit their primary care physician for a comprehensive physical before competing in athletics. Onsite physicals are available at various locations throughout the year for individuals who cannot obtain a comprehensive physical. The cost is $20.00 cash only.

    The dates for physicals at Maury High School are May 3, 2017 and August 1, 2017 at 5:00 PM.

    Please access the physical form and fill out parts I, II, and IV prior to attending an onsite physical at one of our schools. If any of those three parts are incomplete before attending an onsite physical, the student athlete will not be given a physical on that day. All completed physicals must be dated after May 1st, 2016.

  • Maya Seay Signs with the University of Illinois

    Standout Maury girls track team athlete Maya Seay accepted a scholarship from the University of Illinois. Maya won the state championship for the 55M hurdles during the indoor track season. In addition, she finished 3rd in the 55M dash and 5th in the long jump. She is a strong candidate for state championships during the outdoor season, as well.
