WELCOME TO THE MEDIA CENTER

The media center is an integral part of W. H. Taylor Elementary School. We strive to be a resource for students, parents, teachers, and staff. We encourage students to develop a love of reading, assist them in becoming critical thinkers, and guide them as they learn to use the technological resources that help them succeed in school and later in life. Our library is a place where teachers can find someone with whom they can collaborate as they plan meaningful, innovative lessons for their students. We work in tandem with parents as they seek to inspire, enrich, and provide remediation for all students through various programs. If you need help, feel free to contact our expert staff.

Library Hours

The library is open for circulation from 10:00 am-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday, whenever school is in session.  Library staff are available from 8:35am-3:30pm each school day. Students may come to the library to read or check out during school hours with permission from their teacher.  

Circulation Policies

Print books can be checked out for two weeks.  Students may check out books as follows:

• Pre-K and Kindergarten: 1 book
• Grade 1:  2 books
• Grade 2: 2 books
• Grade 3-5: 3 books

To access electronic books at home, students must log into the Destiny catalog with their school login and password. If your student doesn't remember his or her school login, contact your child's teacher for this information.
