Welcome to Granby High School, Home of the Comets and a community that proudly supports our military families. We know that frequent moves and new beginnings can be challenging, but here you’re not starting over, you’re joining a team that understands. Our Student 2 Student (S2S) ambassadors are here to help your student feel connected, informed, and right at home from day one. Whether it’s finding classes, joining clubs, or just having someone to eat lunch with, we’ve got them covered. Thank you for your family’s service and for choosing Granby. We are honored to serve those who serve our country.  Below are some resources which can be used to help you and your student transition to Granby High School.

Our Student 2 Student (S2S) military program at a high school is a peer-led initiative designed to support students connected to the military, especially those transitioning to or from new schools due to family moves. The program trains a team of student ambassadors to welcome new military-connected students, help them adjust academically and socially, and promote a sense of belonging. S2S fosters understanding of the unique challenges military families face, builds leadership and empathy among participants, and strengthens school culture through service projects and inclusive activities.

    Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC)

The Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Program provides confidential, short-term, non-medical counseling and support to military-connected students and their families. MFLCs are licensed professionals who understand the unique challenges of military life - frequent moves, deployments, and transitions - and work to help students build resilience, manage stress, and succeed socially and academically. They offer one-on-one and group support, classroom presentations, and consultation for staff and parents, all while maintaining strict confidentiality. The program’s goal is simple: strengthen the wellbeing of military families and ensure every student feels supported and ready to thrive.
