    New ParentVue Procedures

    That process is now changed. All parent credentials are created by Synergy. New parents will now be able to generate their own Usernames and Passwords, and previous parents who already have Usernames will be able to change or reset their own passwords. This process is done by automatically sending parents an email with a link that they can use to activate their ParentVUE account and create their credentials. When parents receive the email, they will click on the link and be prompted to enter their First and Last name as it appears in the system to validate their account. Once validated, Parents can create their Usernames and Passwords and have access to the students they are connected to in the system. This process is scheduled to run every three days, and a Parent will receive an email every three days until they activate their accounts.

     

    In order to receive this email, a parent must:

    1. Have an email address in the system that we can send it to
    2. Have an active student in the system
    3. Not already have a ParentVUE account (If a parent already has a ParentVUE account we will discuss resetting their password instead below)
    4. Have the “Educational Rights” box checked on the Parent Tab for the student.
    5. Have the “Has Custody” box checked on the Parent Tab for the student.

     

    Returning Parents Resetting Passwords to Their ParentVUE accounts

    For parents already in the system, their previous usernames and passwords in ParentVUE will still work. If they have forgotten their username or password and they have an email in the system they will be able to reset their own passwords by using the “Forgot Password” option at login. This email will provide them with their Username and a link where they can reset their password.

     

    Adding Email to Parent Accounts

    The major thing in all of this is that in order to have access to ParentVUE, parents will need to have an email in the system. Parents, if you need your email added, please email askgranby@npsk12.com with your student's name, your name, and which email should be added.
