Ms. Yukita Boone, Principal
Yukita Boone is a native of Suffolk, VA where I graduated from Nansemond River High Schools. I furthered my education by receiving a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Psychology and minor in Early Childhood Education from Norfolk State University. From there I went to Regent University to pursue a Master’s in Teaching and an Endorsement in Educational Leadership. I have also obtained a Master’s in Community Counseling from Regent University and have a Qualified Mental Health Professional’s License for Children.
I have been employed with Norfolk Public Schools since 2000 and have served in several roles, to include:
· Classroom teacher
· Instructional Specialist
· Instructional Interventionist
· Assistant Principal
I am married with 4 children: 3 daughters, a son and two grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting, traveling, listening to music, and shopping.
You will find that I am a servant and will always go above and beyond to support the students, staff, and the community in which I serve. I can often be heard saying two things, “Treat the children you serve the way you want someone else to treat your child/ren” and “Let’s strive to make our students better tomorrow than they were today.” These quotes resound with me, as I want all of our students to feel that they are heard, loved, and safe. These feelings help them want to come to school and learn without fear.
It is with great pride that I serve the Richard Bowling community. I am excited about the possibilities we have and the innovation of the staff and ability of the students within the building.
