Girls in STEM Hosts Annual CTE Lunch-N-Learn

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, students from the Girls in STEM after-school program based at Granby HS hosted their annual Lunch-N-Learn event. During the event, the Girls in STEM students had an opportunity to highlight various program activities and numerous accomplishments. In addition, students from the NJROTC shared their participation in the Cyber Patriots program and preparing for the state round of the competition in December 2021.

Karissa Crawford, Granby HS alumnus, also spoke about her journey from being a member of Girls in Engineering (now Girls in STEM), taking TCC Dual Enrollment courses as a junior and senior at Granby HS, and now a student at Old Dominion University, majoring in Civil Engineering. She currently serves as a mentor to the current members of Girls in STEM.

The event was well attended, as members of the Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee (CTEAC) used this time to not only hold their monthly meeting, but to hear the good things happening in NPS’ CTE programs. Furthermore, CTEAC members were able to provide direct feedback to student attendees and gauge needed supports for future program endeavors.

The CTE student presenters and CTE advisors would like to thank everyone for their support.
