On December 6, 2019, the Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV) hosted the Virginia ProStart Boot Camp. Culinary students enrolled in Culinary ProStart Programs from Maury High School and Norfolk Technical Center came together with other students from across the Hampton Roads area. These students are preparing for not only a career in the culinary field, but for state and national competitions, as well. The winners of these competitions will receive scholarship monies for the culinary school of their choice. Students learned more defined skills by preparing Asian, Indian and Tex-Mex Cuisines during their workshops and were then able to sample each other’s dishes. We wish them well in their upcoming competitions.
