Girls in Engineering takes 1st Place!

Granby's Girls in Engineering (GIE) team took 1st place in the Mid-Atlantic MATE ROV Competition, Saturday, May 4, 2019. The competition was held at Old Dominion University’s Recreational pool.  After seven months of designing, building and troubleshooting their Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) the young ladies received the "Best Design" award, the "Best Marketing Promotion" and First Place.  This qualifies them to advance to the Marine Advanced Technical Education (MATE) ROV International Competition in Kingsport, TN June 20 - 22.  Members are looking forward to competing against other regional winners from around the world.
