School Nutrition is serving grab n' go meals at thirty-four (34) schools for the first 9 weeks of school to accommodate our virtual learners. Meals are distributed daily, Monday-Friday from 3:00-5:00 inside the school’s cafeteria and cover supper for that night and breakfast, lunch, and a snack for the following day. Supper will be served hot while other meals will be a mixture of pre-packaged, ready to eat items as well as "heat and eat" items. Meal bags will come with preparation, food safety, and allergy information. Families can also find this information on School Nutrition's website below. If your child has special dietary needs please contact the School Nutrition office at 757-628-2760 to request an accommodation. Special dietary needs are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Meals may be picked up at any open school. Parents may pick up meals for Norfolk Public Schools students and should be prepared to provide the student’s lunch ID information and school in which they are enrolled. Additionally, when picking up meals please wear a mask per Governor Northam’s Executive Order 61 and observe social distancing practices inside the school building.
