Larchmont Elementary remembers “Ruby Bridges” for Black History Month

Larchmont Elementary students recognized Black History Month with a special theatrical performance of the “Story of Ruby Bridges” that chronicled her life’s experiences.  Assistant Principal Dionne Crisco wrote this musical play that showcased the song and dance talents of the students while performing iconic music by Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson.  Ruby Bridges, the youngest of five, was a young civil rights activist in that at the tender age of six she was the lone child that desegregated William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, LA.  Today, at the age of 64, Bridges continues to speak on her experiences and advocate for racial justice.
