Norfolk PD and Granby High School Celebrate Another T.R.U.E. Graduation

The Norfolk Police Department (NPD) in partnership with Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) graduated another class of T.R.U.E. Youth initiative officers, at a ceremony held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Granby High School. The six-week program began in 2017 and rotates to high schools throughout the City. The classes focus on developing college and workforce readiness skills and has been instrumental in preparing students for life beyond high school. Officers assist students with preparing for mock interviews, writing resumes as well as completing employment, trade school and/or college applications. During today’s ceremony, students were commended and encouraged for their hard work and dedication. School administrators, city staff and police officers were in attendance to congratulate the graduating class of high schoolers. WTKR-News 3 even came out to join in the festivities!
