National Cybersecurity Awareness Month- October 2021

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month- October 2021

“Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” This theme empowers everyone to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace. If everyone does their part – implementing stronger security practices, raising community awareness, educating all audiences – our interconnected world will be safer and more resilient for everyone.

In conjunction with the National Cybersecurity Alliance, The Norfolk Public Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department is proud to be a Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champion! Our students and teachers are champions as well. Throughout the district, there are career and learning pathways that allow our students to be introduced, infused, and/or immersed into the field of cybersecurity. On the elementary level, there are related activities that allow for younger students to be “cyber aware”. On the secondary level, there are cybersecurity course offerings, work-based learning experiences, and opportunities to earn cyber related certifications. Knowing more about Cybersecurity is a WIN for all!

Take a moment to become a Cybersecurity Awareness Champion. Below are some quick activities and information clips that can be done in school or at home. Please feel free to contact the CTE department for more information at or follow us on twitter @iAMNPSCTE
