Berkley Campostella ECC showcases DAYMAC program

Berkley Campostella ECC showcased their DAYMAC program to Va. Department of Education (VDOE) officials and representatives from the governor's office in conjunction with the school’s partner, Apple Corporation, and observed classrooms to learn more about the innovative enrichment programs at the school. Rusty Fairheart, Deputy Superintendent and Chief of Staff at VDOE, Jenna Conway, Chief Readiness Officer, Office of First Lady, along with school and education officials toured classrooms demonstrating coding, STEM experiments, yoga, culinary, literacy, and Spanish presentations.

Their visit is part of a newly established Children's Cabinet designed to support early childhood education in Virginia. The Children’s Cabinet will prioritize issues including early childhood development and school readiness, nutrition and food security, and systems of care and safety for school-aged youth.
