Overview

The NPS Payroll Department ensures the correct and timely payment of wages to both Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) employees and other fiscal agency employees and the payment of all payroll related obligations.  The Payroll Department completes the following: 

  1. Pays employees on a bi-weekly basis (every two weeks)
  2. Creates receipt of pay
  3. Inputs tax withholding forms (W-4, W-5 & VA-4)
  4. Ensures employee deductions (taxes, benefits, TSAs, etc.) are taken
  5. Accrues employee leave on a monthly basis
  6. Administers the VRS program
