Little Feet Meet 2024 – Little Feet Meet is hosted by our Learning Support Special Education Department. This unique event sponsored by NPS, the Special Olympics and ODU's Football and Therapeutic Recreation program gives students with special needs and their non-disabled peers the opportunity to learn, play and have fun together.
Family University - Norfolk Public School staff along with community partners come together to provide information to enrich learning at home to include guest speakers, celebration of the arts and music, and to engaging instructional activities. Connecting for Students Community Summit Link
Lake Taylor School Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU) Tour– Students had HBCU presentations for staff and community guests to learn facts about HBCUs.
Norfolk Sister City Association Young Global Citizen Program Norfolk Sister City Association Young Global Citizen Program brought a delegation of college students from the Sister City of Kitakyushu, Japan, to the 7th grade International Studies students at the Academy at Rosemont. The students from Japan shared presentations related to food, sports, geography, and culture. The college students even stayed to enjoy lunch with the students in the cafeteria. Jeff Williams assisted in facilitating the presentations. Norfolk Sister City Association past president Gary Bonnewell and Interim Executive Director Lisa King-Boatright were also in attendance.
