College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award – Maury High School

Everyday Hero - WTKR’s Jessica Larche conducted an Everyday Hero segment that features a teacher, student, or staff member from Norfolk Public Schools who is always going above and beyond for her upcoming segment on February 13. Samantha Ramirez and Gladynell Soler-Rojas’ names were submitted to Ms. Larche. These ladies are everyday heroes who work to ensure students and families are welcomed, valued, and heard in our schools and communities.

English Learner Family Academy (ELFA) Cookbook Project - School Nutrition cookbook project titled, A Seat at Our Table, is composed of NPS EL family's collected recipies, storis, illustrations, and country flags.  One of the recipes provided by the ELFA group (Puerto Rico Rice with Peas) was converted it into a School Nutrition standardized recipe. This entrée has been served at schools offering and has been considered for a lunchtime menu placement item for the 2024-2025 school year.
