KPMG joins forces with NPS on literacy efforts

KPMG joins forces with NPS on literacy efforts
As part of the district’s continued focus on literacy, KPMG held a book fair for students at Jacox Elementary.  Eager readers had the opportunity to select their very own book and were even visited by some popular storybook characters and company representatives who participated by reading to the students.  The fair was made possible by KPMG’s Family for Literacy program, which was established in 2007 to support the company’s focus on initiatives that impact youth and education.  KPMG is a global firm with a local presence and provides audit, tax and advisory services to various businesses.  This partnership was facilitated by the Office of Interagency Collaboration & Wraparound Services, led by Dr. Sharon I. Byrdsong.  The department plans to continue its efforts with KPMG and other community partners to support the #NPSRedesign initiative, as its core areas of focus are literacy, leadership and rigor.
