Students learn about future careers from Rotary Club members

Students learn about future careers from Rotary Club members

In hopes of inspiring them to pursue various careers, 14 students had an opportunity to shadow members of the Norfolk Rotary Club on their jobs.  After the job shadow experience, students wrote an essay about lessons learned for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate.  As evidenced in their essays, students were profoundly impacted by the chance to observe first-hand a juvenile court judge, lawyers, doctors, business and community members.  Rotary Club members thoroughly enjoyed reading the student essays and were thrilled to know the long-lasting effect that the career observation had on participating students.

Four students, Ryan Cook and Madelyn Moore of Maury High School, and Monte Stewart and Cierra Broughton of Booker T. Washington High School won the monetary awards.
