
The Summer Strings Camp for middle school students provides interested and talented students opportunities for more intensive study on their instruments. In an atmosphere of “Summer Camp”, the focus will be on technique, improving tone, and fundamentals of music. The program is open to strings students. Students must sign-up in the area in which they are currently enrolled and must have the orchestra director’s recommendation. The program fee is $50.00 which includes the cost of methods books. Students may register at their current school between May 1 and May 16. Bus transportation will be provided to Norfolk residents.

The summer strings program will be held at the same time as the schools’ summer school program.
NOTE: Students will be expected to provide their own instruments. Those who are currently using Norfolk
Public Schools’ instruments need to check with their director to extend the Loan Agreement through this period
(middle school students ONLY). Rising 5th graders may check out instruments on site for summer session.
