arrow  SUMMER ART ACADEMY

The Summer Art Academy provides elementary and middle students the opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while exploring a wide range of media and cultures through a thematic, integrated approach to art.  Activities will include weekly field trips based on integrated themes.  Fees (which include all supplies and field trips) are $50 for Norfolk residents and $125.00 for non-Norfolk residents.  Students may ride buses at the designated summer school sites or provide their own transportation.   NOTE: Student exhibitions will be held on Mon., July 14, 2008. Registration information will be accepted in the art office on a first-come basis before May 30, 2008.  Bus transportation will be provided for Norfolk residents.

  • The Elementary Summer Art Academy is open to all interested students in grades 3-5 (rising 4-6) with a limit of 20 students at each school.

Locations:          
Calcott, Granby Elementary, Ingleside, Lindenwood, and Sherwood Forest


Dates:                
Monday, June 23, 2008 – Friday, July 11, 2008


Day/Time:          
Monday - Friday - (No classes on Friday, July 4)


Time:                 
The summer art program will be held at the same time as the schools’ summer school program.


The Middle School Summer Art Academy is open to all interested students in grades 6-8 (rising 7-9) with a limit of 20 students each school.

Locations:           Northside and Ruffner Middle Schools

Dates:                
Monday, June 23, 2008 - Friday, July 11, 2008


Day/Time:          
Monday - Friday - (No classes on Friday, July4)


Time:                 
The summer art program will be held at the same times as the schools’ summer school program.
