Special Guidance Opportunities for 5th & 8th-Graders and High School Students

Attention Parents of High School Students:

Parents of all high school students are encouraged to make an appointment with their child's counselor in November for an individual academic/registration session. During the academic session, the counselor, parent, and child will select courses for the particular diploma seal desired. Career goals, college admissions, and the scholarship application process also will be discussed. Please call your child's school counselor to arrange an appointment.

Attention Parents of All 8th-grade Students:

Parents of all 8th-grade students will be invited to an individual academic/registration session with their child and his/her counselor to plan for four years of high school and to register for 9th-grade courses. At this session, the student's program of studies and the desired diploma plan will be selected. In addition, procedures for exploring careers, colleges and financial aid will be discussed. Resources such as the Freshman Handbook and the ACCESS College Foundation pamphlet will be provided to the parents during the session.

These sessions will begin in January and end in May. When you receive the invitation, please call your child's school to make an appointment.

Attention Parents of All 5th-grade Students:

Parents of all 5th-grade students will be invited to an academic counseling session with their child and his/her counselor to plan for the middle school years. At this session, the topics related to graduation requirements, post-secondary options, scholarships/financial aid and the ACCESS College Foundation are discussed. These sessions will begin in January and end in May. When you receive the invitation, please call your child's school counselor to make an appointment.
