Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, announcements of school openings and closings will be communicated through the following:

Code 1

Schools are closed for all students and employees, including the Central Administration Building and Bellmore Complex. Essential personnel report as required by the superintendent of schools.

Code 2

Schools closed for all students, teachers and 10-and 11-month contracted personnel who do not earn annual leave. All 12-month contracted personnel who earn annual leave must report to work.

Code 3

Schools open two hours later than normal opening time. School buses will run two hours later than normal. Breakfast will not be served. Schools will be dismissed at normal time. Central Administration Building, Bellmore Complex, custodial, and food service employees report at regular times.

School days missed because of inclement weather will be made up in accordance with plans developed by the Superintendent.
