General School Information - Homework

Homework

Homework is intended to reinforce classroom learning. Homework will be assigned A MINIMUM OF FOUR NIGHTS a week which may include a weekend assignment per subject. Homework will not be assigned over holidays except to complete long-range assignments and projects.

Minimum time Guidelines for Homework are:

• Pre-Kindergarten-Grade 1: Up to 30 minutes of homework per night.
• 
  Grades 2-3: A minimum of 45 minutes per night.
• 
  Grades 4-5: A minimum of 60 minutes per night.
  
• 
  Grades 6-8: A minimum of 20 minutes per night per subject.
  
  
• Grades 9-12: A minimum of 30 minutes per subject per night.

Homework will represent between 5-10% of the nine-week or semester grade in Grades 3-12. Homework will not be used for disciplinary purposes.
